When you think of the Santa Fe Springs Swap Meet–you know, right off the 5 right when the beautiful, wide roadway of Orange County gives way to the choking, backed-up awfulness of Los Angeles County–what do you think of? Tchotchkes, un-shrink-wrapped DVDs, and tribute bands, right?

But there's a better reason to go on April 21; craft beer. There'll be a
collection of Western brewers pouring samples of their beer, while the
practically required tribute band (the Doors, this time) plays and food
trucks cavort in the parking lot. Bootlegger's will be repping Orange
County, and New Belgium, Anchor Steam, Hangar 24, Golden Road, Alaskan,
Red Hook, Firestone, and Lagunitas will be there too, each with two
kinds of beer.
Your $10 ticket ($15 at the door if they don't sell out) gets you
admission plus five 6-ounce samples of beer. That's a pint and a half of
really good beer; maybe bring someone to do the driving.
The event is April 21 from 6-11 p.m. at the Santa Fe Springs Swap Meet,
13963 Alondra Blvd., Santa Fe Springs. To buy tickets, call (562)
921-9996 or stop by at the swap meet office. The event website is here, but we've pretty much given you all the information they have up.
