There will be a DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint in Santa Ana tonight, (that’s Friday, June 28), the Santa Ana PD announced. The checkpoint will go up in the area of 3500 W. 5th St. in Santa Ana from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.
According to the Santa Ana PD, this checkpoint is strictly about drunk driving–not immigration.
“This operation is NOT connected to any immigration enforcement action,” states a June 27 news release from the department. “Given Santa Ana’s Sanctuary City designation, as defined in Santa Ana Ordinance NS-2908, the ordinance prohibits members of the Santa Ana Police Department from engaging in any immigration enforcement within the City limits. Public safety requires community partnerships, and engaging in immigration enforcement operations erodes the trust necessary to provide effective public safety services in our City.”
According to the SAPD, “Officers will provide on-the-spot assessments of drivers suspected of alcohol or drug impairment” at the checkpoint. The department also says that it will be conducted “in accordance with the guidelines for DUI checkpoint operations outlined in the California Supreme Court decision, Ingersoll v. Palmer.”
Funding for the checkpoint comes through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

THE LIE OF TPS / DACA:
To Democrats/Progressives/Socialists (whats the difference?) programs like Temporary Protective Status (TPS) or Deferred Action for Childhood arrivals (DACA) are permanent programs. There is nothing “temporary or deferred” about these programs to Democrats. These programs are designed to admit refugees (usually from the third world) then Democrats fight to keep them here permanently using the charge of racism, religion, guilt, against anyone opposed. Simple formula works great.
