As we wrote on these pages a few months ago, Canyon, Rich Mead's follow up to Sage, his shuttered Newport Beach institution, was closed to make way for a new concept called Reunion Kitchen + Drink.
Reunion opens this week.
]
It had this to describe itself on its homepage:
“Reunion returns the soul to the dining experience, with an inventive take on modern comfort food. From signature starters like our charred brussel sprouts to our bacon wrapped jalapeños; delicious sandwiches and burgers; and amazing variety of salads and entrées.”
The full menu is online to peruse, but it looks like a back-to-basics approach with lots of comfort food staples like pot pie, meatloaf, even chicken and biscuits.
