Over the past several years, standup comedians have become a massive draw on the touring circuit. Between the stars who have their own shows and specials on TV and the comics who have popularized podcasts, it’s a very good time to be a comedian. The Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival features national headliners like Louis C.K. and Sarah Silverman, rapidly ascending comics like Amy Schumer, Hannibal Burress and Aziz Ansari, and established veterans/podcast-kings Marc Maron, Bill Burr and Chris Hardwick. In the past, the only place you’d hope to see one (nevertheless all) of these comedians would be at your local (and small) comedy club. But with a trip to one of the largest amphitheaters in Southern California, this tour proves that comedians are the new rock stars.
