Five to 10 people were drinking in front of a home in the 1700 block of West Flora
Street, just south of Warner Avenue, in Santa Ana around 12:30 a.m. on June 26 when Alex Camacho, 35, got into an argument with another man, who pulled out a gun and shot Camacho in the chest before fleeing.

Santa Ana police say they found the gunman.

Richard
Reil
, a 43-year-old parolee from Santa Ana and frequenter of the area around the scene of the crime, was spotted running from a residence in the 2400
block of West La Verne Avenue, near Sullivan Street, by police and parole
officers conducting surveillance on him July 7.

Reil was later apprehended and arrested on suspicion of murder.

Police say that at the time of the arrest, Reil was carrying a gun that was to be tested to see if it matches the one used in Camacho's murder, which is not believed to be gang-related.

Reid was held without bail. He apparently has two
warrants for parole violation and vandalism and unlawful entry.
