Meet the Accused Garlic & Onion Donut Rapist

Perhaps Phat Huy To wouldn't have been arrested last month in Garden Grove near Little Saigon, if he'd showered and brushed his teeth before spending 2.5 hours raping and sodomizing a woman he picked up on the street at 2 a.m.

After the woman reported the crime, finding the suspect wasn't too difficult.

The victim told police detectives that her attacker had a distinctive odor.

He smelled like a garlic and onion donut, she said.

And during the rape, the attacker said his mom owned an Orange County donut shop.

Prosecutors intend to put To, 26, on trial in coming months.
