For the better part of the last decade, the 32-year-old has been widely regarded as a one of the most well-respected working comedians. Though he’s known to some as Lincoln Rice on Comedy Central’s Broad City and Matt Attack in the Adult Swim series China, IL, Buress is primarily known for his stand-up act. Despite a stint as a writer on Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock, it’s Buress’ appearance on late night TV where he saw his profile rise. But it was a fateful night in Philadelphia last October that has become the defining moment in the comedian’s career to date: his routine about Bill Cosby went viral. As Cosby found out the hard way, Buress’ no-frills, biting comedy doesn’t play favorites and that in itself has made him a favorite.
