Like Tom Cruise in Top Gun, we too have a need for speed, but instead of jet planes we fulfill it with the long-running series of motocross races known as Costa Mesa Speedway. This year's season brings more national championships and showmanly rides to impress the kiddies, with tonight's event featuring a showcase of vintage Harleys and custom choppers riding up and down the track, as well as some neat sidecar races to supplement the night's Speedway races. Really, what could be more enthralling than the sounds of engines revving and the sight of freestyle motocross jumpers pulling death-defying leaps into the air under the California sunset?
