Street art is accepted and integrated into the modern art world by now so you don't have to search too hard to find it, especially in Orange County (in fact, look around Downtown Santa Ana and you'll find a gold mine of graffiti murals and large-scale street art). Long Beach Museum of Art aims to understand the role of street art in the developing urban contemporary art world, and does so in its newest exhibition 'Vitality and Verve: Transforming the Urban Landscape.' Artists such as Audrey Kawasaki, Alex Yanes, Jeff Soto, Low Bros and Hot Tea and many more will transform the museum into their personal canvases, filling up the empty white walls with their own original works before being restored to its default blank state come closing time. Although that's just the tragedy of street art in general— it's never up long enough when you want it to be.
