In his preview of the FIFA World Cup, Josh Cain ran down the locals and almost locals competing for the United States team. Among them was Landon Donovan,
the 28-year-old Ontario native who just scored the winning goal that has sent America to the second round for the first time since the Stone Age.

Of course, pulling the Donovan card for this post is a gimme. “He's only the most famous and
successful
American fútbol player of the last
decade,” as Cain noted.
Cain also wrote that the LA Galaxy star “clearly
has the
stones to lead the US team in his third consecutive World Cup.”
By sealing the 1-0 win over Algeria that moves USA on to the knockout stage, those stones should be displayed at the Smithsonian.
