“The city can't just declare an employee resigned and stop paying him,” said attorney James Spertus, who claims his client Rizzo negotiated a severance package with the City Council when he resigned earlier in the summer, and that no payments have been made.
Rizzo, some of the council members and other city officials are currently facing corruption charges.
Responding to reporters' questions about why Rizzo has not faced the media nor been seen around his Surf City home, Spertus denied Jabba is hiding from anyone.
