It's Verne Joseph Strong, 57, of Newport Beach, who was sentenced Dec. 16 to 317 days in jail for swinging 8-pound, 8-month-old
chihuahua-dachshund mix puppy Meanie by a leash like a lasso during a fight with his girlfriend in a Walmart parking lot.
We'll see if Strong's girlfriend, Angel Marie Holmes, 37, of Newport Beach, also deserves the ugly mug treatment when her felony accessory after the
fact trial begins.
