The internet is just a series of tubes filled with cats. Fats cats, itty bitty cats, cats in bathtubs, cats riding vacuum cleaners. Local artists/musicians Ellen Warkentine and Andrew Pedroza refuse to believe this is our generation's idea of culture (but, sadly, it is) so they created the show currently on rotation at the Garage Theatre: LOLPERA. It's an opera. About LOL Cats. There's a song called “Ceiling Cat is Watching You Masturbate.” If pictures of felines with clever captions isn't the best example of culture, maybe a quirky, oddball opera can point us in the right direction.
