A California Highway Patrol officer who worked out of the Westminster office is scheduled to be arraigned Friday on

paid medical time off from work.
Deborah Therese Sparso, 46, of Anaheim
Hills, could get up to six months in jail with a conviction.

Between Sept. 15, 2008, and Apr. 15, 2011, Sparso used the blank prescription forms to take $11,000 worth of paid time off from the CHP, according to the Orange County District Attorney's office, which notes the doctor on the script did not write it nor authorize anyone else to do so.
Sparso, who often springs up as a CHP spokeswoman in media reports, is charged with one misdemeanor count of manufacturing, copying
or reproducing false prescription blank forms. Her scheduled arraignment is Friday morning at the North Justice Center in Fullerton.
