For those of you who don't read TMZ or any of the gossip blogs, the past week hasn't been too kind to Amanda Bynes. Yes, this may seem like old news, or even never-ending news, but there's been another twist to the Bynes saga. No, it's not that the former starlet recently announced that she sought to embark on a career as a rapper, comical in itself. To refresh those who haven't been watching As the Bynes Turns, she was arrested last week in New York City for drug possession and for hurling her bong out the window of her 36th floor apartment.
While many pundits have given their two cents on her arrest, including several celebrities when they weren't laughing, one singer with a tumultuous past advised Bynes that If you were to guess that Courtney Love, yes THAT Courtney Love, would be the one to tell her that she needs to get her shit together then you win, assuming you didn't laugh in the first place.

It's a strange, mad world we live in when the former Mrs. Cobain serves as the mother hen to the next generation of malcontent entertainers. Remember when Love unabashedly (and wrongly) called out Dave Grohl for allegedly having an affair with her daughter Frances Bean? Or the time when she was sued for libel by her own lawyers for statements she made about them on Twitter? What about my personal favorite, her on-again, off-again feud with fellow '90s rocker Billy Corgan? At any rate, it's surprising that Love feels compelled to tell anyone to get their life in order, even Bynes–the world's hottest of hot messes.
Who knows why Love decided to chime in and tell Bynes to “pull it together dude.” Maybe it's because she has an upcoming tour and could use the good PR or perhaps, as unlikely as it sounds she's turned a new leaf after all of the years and wants to provide helping hand to the former actress. Either way, seeing the Hole frontwoman telling someone to get it together is as bad as Michael Lohan offering fatherly advice.
Not surprisingly, Bynes rejected Love's words of wisdom. She responded to Love in a series of tweets saying, “Courtney Love is the ugliest woman I've ever seen,” and “To be mentioned by her at all makes me and all my friends laugh!” Oy vey. Just when you thought the strange, sad saga Amanda Bynes couldn't get any stranger, it did. After all, when you make Courtney Love look like the sane one, that's saying something. If this isn't rock bottom for Bynes, look out below.
