Jean-Yves Thibaudet, the Grammy-nominated famous French pianist, visits Orange County for an awe-inspiring meeting-of-the-minds. He teams up with the esteemed Czech Philharmonic and conductor Jirí Belohlávek to perform several works from Czech and Hungarian composers. On the bill is Czech composer Leoš Janáček's orchestral rhapsody “Taras Bulba,” “Piano Concerto No. 2” by Hungary's Franz Liszt, and Czech composer Antonin Dvorák's “Symphony No. 9 in E minor, From the New World.” And to add to the affair, this concert marks conductor Belohlávek's first U.S. performance—and we're delighted he chose the Segerstrom Center for the occasion. It's an evening of classical music and culture unlike anything else happening this Tuesday night.
