Complicated courtship and creative solidarity arrives on the stage after the hit movie, soundtrack and international folk-love-in sensation about the meeting of minds and song and heart between the Dublin busker and the Czech lady flower seller. The Guy from the film Once meets The Girl once again in this multiple Tony-winning musical version with many of the same songs as the movie, again performed by a troupe of real-live actor-singer-musicians in addition to stand-ins for real-life musicians Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová of the band The Swell Season. Once is a grown-up ending to a fairy tale collaboration, an unflinching and yet affirming sing-along to the beautiful unlikelihood of two artists who care for each other and their art and, yes, their audiences, real and imagined and, finally, created.
