A part-time bookkeeper was sentenced to eight years in prison for embezzling more than $750,000 from two companies that she used purchase a Cadillac Escalade and a Toyota FJ Cruiser, racing motorcycles, several European vacations, a $20,000 dune buggy for her children and cosmetic breast-enhancement surgeries for herself.

Lisa Jeanette Dorman, 43, of Huntington Beach, was spending up to about $20,000 per month over her five-year crime spree, according to the Orange County District Attorney's office, which listed among her purchases a two-week, $47,000 Italian getaway.
Dorman was hired in October 2007 as the part-time bookkeeper for Stratus Development LLC, where she embezzled more than $171,000 over about two years by writing herself extra salary checks and depositing them into phony vendor accounts.
She resigned in November 2009 to do the same work–and embezzlement–at Southern
California Contractors Inc., where she stole more than $578,000 over about three years, much the same way as she did with Stratus.
