It may surprise you, but there are shows outside of the major venues in Orange County with small local and touring bands in even smaller obscure spaces.
This one was set up by Alyx Poska of Pacific Nature at Beatnik Bandito Music Emporium, a tiny, slightly hidden gem of a music store off 5th street in Downtown Santa Ana. Hemingway from Portland, Oregon (who I actually played bass in last summer), was passing through and played with Winter Break, Ridgeway, and Iris Jupiter. Moose Brew was also in attendance, serving up fresh coffee and tea for the weary.
It's a small scene of people thriving through DIY ethics and community efforts to keep music available to all ages regardless of financial status to provide a safe space for everyone to enjoy themselves.
