Taco Bell Crime of the Week: Stealing Donations Meant for Muscular Dystrophy Kids!

To robbers: if you're going to rob Taco Bell, rob the cash register. Rob a customer. Rob the damn pay phone outside, if you must. But stealing a donation box for children with muscular distrophy? Low, low, low.

From Palm Bay, Florida:

Palm Bay police are searching for a man who broke into a Taco Bell restaurant and raided a coin jar used to raise funds for children with muscular dystrophy.

The break-in happened after closing, about 2:40 a.m. Monday, at the Taco Bell at 1120 Malabar Road, officials said.

Police said the northeast door was apparently smashed in with a hammer.

Once inside, the burglar went directly to a container packed with coins, police report.

“He stole the coins and then fled. It doesn't look like he made his way to any other part of the store or the freezer,” said Yvonne Martinez, spokeswoman for the Palm Bay Police Department.
