Seoulmate, Another Korean-Mexican Joint, Opens In Long Beach

Roy Choi of Kogi BBQ needs to be thanked. The dude who didn't invent but popularized the idea of melding Mexican tortillas and cheese with Korean bulgogi and kimchi has inspired not just the boys of Dos Chinos, Urban Seoul, but now also Seoulmate in Long Beach, whose name is as inevitable as the bulgogi burritos it serves.

The place opened about a week ago and offers not just that burrito (which is called The Old Boy in honor of Chan-wook Park's seminal movie that's about to be remade by Spike Lee) but also old school Korean mom food that's actually called “Mom's Kimchi Pork” stew and a bibimbap.
