Pokistation in Irvine Opens; Serves Poki Bowls and Xiao Long Baos

Two of the hottest things to debut last year were Pokinometry and Din Tai Fung. The former for poki bowls, which are basically cubes of raw fish dressed in flavorful sauces served in bowls of rice; the latter for xiao long bao, a.k.a. juicy pork dumplings.

Now there's a restaurant where you can have both…at the same time. Pokistation bills itself as a Chinese restaurant and it serves xiao long baos, which are Chinese, along with other menu items that you usually find when you see that xiao long baos are served: shao mai, wontons, onion pancakes and even pork chop noodles. But then on the last page of their menu there are bentos with curry rice, sandwiches stuffed with teriyaki chicken, poki hand tolls, and the aforementioned poki bowls–all of which you don't tend to find with xiao long baos unless you happen to be in a food court in Singapore.

Pokistation opened last week and is currently offering a 30% off coupon on their website to try their xiao long baos.
