Get those expandable waistbands and toothpicks ready for A Taste of Greece, a three-day food fest filled with difficult-to-pronounce yet mightily flavorful fare. Now in its 33rd year, the event will take place June 24 to 26 at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church in Irvine.

Chomp on gyros, pastichio (Greek lasagna), loucanico (Greek sausage), spanakopita (spinach and feta pie), Dolmathes (stuffed grape leaves), saganaki (Greek brandy-flamed cheese), and baklava and loukoumathes (Greek doughnut holes) for dessert. Then digest it all with a stroll through the rows of boutique shops and carnival games, or if you're feeling brave, Greek dance lessons.

Festival hours are 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, June 24; noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 25; and noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 26. Admission is just $3. Seniors over 65 get in free on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m., and kids under 10 are always free.
