Nekter, a local juice-bar chain known for its green smoothies and other things that help us poop, surprised us with its latest offering: cocktail mixers. Hey, even health nuts need to put down the yoga mats and have some fun once in a while.
Called Nekter On the Rocks, there are five all-natural, fruit and veggie mixers to pair with your favorite wine or spirit. Each is cold-pressed and low in calories, a guilt-free alternative to the nasty, syrupy stuff you chugged in college.

Flavors include Berry Basil (strawberries, blueberries, agave and lemons), Sublime Margarita (oregano, lemons, limes and agave nectar), Ruby Sunset (blood oranges, nectarines and grapefruit), Cali Colado (coconut water, pineapple, coconut puree and oranges) and Green Mary (green apples, parsley, spinach, celery, cucumber, kale, green bell pepper, ginger, lime, lemon, black pepper, jalapeno, horseradish and cayenne).
Nekter is celebrating the launch with a party this Thursday, May 9 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the location on 17th Street in Costa Mesa.
