Now Open: More Ramen for Costa Mesa; A New Mediterranean Restaurant in Irvine; And MORE!

Former Leatherby's chef Ross Pangilinan's solo venture, Mix Mix, had its soft opening last week at the former Little Sparrow/Black Box/Hopper & Burr space. The grand opening for the new restaurant is slated for the Friday after Thanksgiving.

300 North Main Street, Santa Ana, CA 92701

Cava Mezze Grill has now opened in the vacant Veggie Grill space at Crossroads in Irvine. It's a build-your-own-meal concept with falafel, braised lamb, and meatballs as proteins, tabbouleh and feta as toppings. The chain currently has two locations: Woodland Hills and L.A. at Westwood Village.

Mendocino Farms has opened inside Whole Foods Market in Tustin. Just like other branches, this one features sandwiches such as the "Pork Belly Banh Mi" with caramelized heritage Kurobuta Pork Belly and the "Not So Fried Chicken."

A new diner  fast-casual called The Stand has opened at near Gelson's at Irvine's Oak Creek Shopping Center. The Stand serves hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken "enriched by proprietary toppings, breads, sides and drinks".

Costa Mesa has another new ramen shop called Menya Keishi that's located in the strip mall in front of Mitsuwa Marketplace, next to 7-Eleven. Unlike most of the city's other ramen purveyors, Menya Keishi specializes in ramen with a chicken broth rather than pork. Also distinguishing it: Orders are placed via tablet.
