There are people out there who count the minutes until the McRib makes its triumphant return to McDonald's. These people know that Ronald usually rolls out the barbecue-slathered pork rib-shaped patty sandwiches around the October to November timeframe.

According to a leaked memo obtained by AdAge from McDonald's Operators National Advertising Fund, the chain's national-franchise council, the McRib's return will be delayed until late into December. Why? Well, because the company recognizes the draw of the product and the cult it enjoys. It's going to milk it for all it's worth to strengthen its fourth quarter numbers.
