Landry's Restaurants Submits Highest Bid on Bankrupt Claim Jumper Chain

The only restaurant I'm familiar with owned by the mammoth Houston-based Landry's Restaurants company is the Rainforest Cafe. Anyone out there heard of Harlows? Kemah? Red Sushi? La Grilgia? Well, we better acquaint ourselves with them, because the Weekly has learned Landry's put in the winning bid to take over the bankrupt Claim Jumper chain.

]
Details are still emerging, but a spokesperson with Claim Jumper confirmed Landry's put in the highest bid, beating out, among other bidders, Claim Jumper founder Craig Nickoloff. A bankruptcy court judge in Delaware still must approve the sale at a Nov. 2 hearing, but the spokesperson is confident the sale will go through, telling the Weekly it was “a very well-vetted auction process.”

No word yet on the dollar amount for the bid. Details to come…
