KFC Holds “Best Chicken Cook” Contest in Santa Ana Today. Also, $2 Chicken Meal.

If you're into irony, the KFC Santa Ana is holding a chicken cook-off today, Wednesday, Sept. 7 to “determine OC's best chicken cook.” No really. Here's more on the “contest” in their words:
]

cook in Orange County, who will compete in the Oct. 11 SoCal finals for a
$500 cash prize and a chance to be labeled Southern California's best
KFC Cook. The SoCal KFC Colonel will be onsite in OC to help judge the
competition. Cooks (will be) competing against each other preparing
three KFC staples: Original Recipe®, Kentucky Grilled Chicken®, and the
Colonel's Extra Crispy™ Strips.”

At the conclusion of the cookoff, “the SoCal KFC Colonel handing out medals and awards.”

If I may translate: the contest is only open to KFC employees. The event today represents the Orange County Regional finals.
