Break of Dawn to Open for Dinner Next Year–and a Test Kitchen?!

Yesterday, Dee Nguyen, owner of the fabulous Break of Dawn restaurant that we spill more lover over than perhaps any non-hole-in-the-wall restaurant not named Memphis or the Crosby, left the following Facebook status update:

‎2012 will be a new dawn for bod. Dinner service is simmering on the stove. A $10-15 sharing family style menu with 7 savory/3 dessert. Bodtk for some aspiring cooks is also a possibility.

“TK,” in this instance, doesn't refer to the yummy burger chain but rather a test kitchen where Nguyen would allow newbies to use his restaurant for the night. OH SNAP!

I'm heading down Laguna Hills way on Friday and will ask him more about the plans. In the meanwhile, here's the latest Nguyen status update:

Is looking for a rundown taqueria joint and do it all over again…

OH SNAP!
