Bluth Original Frozen Banana Stand from Arrested Development To Visit Balboa Island THIS SUNDAY!!!

The masses seethed when Netflix announced that their promotional tour of a replica of the Bluth Banana Stand from Arrested Development wouldn't visit Orange County, even though series creator Mitch Hurwitz openly admits he got the idea from the stands on Balboa Island. The masses started a campaign, vented online–but Netflix wouldn't budge.

Until now. The Weekly can report that the Bluth Banana Stand will visit Balboa Island THIS SUNDAY.

The stand is scheduled to show up at Marine Avenue near the fire station from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. “We are so pleased that Netflix is bringing its Bluth's Original Frozen Banana stand to Newport Beach,” Newport Beach Mayor Keith Curry says in a press release. “Newport Beach is the home of the frozen banana and we welcome Netflix to the city.”

It's scheduled to be the last stop on the tour, per the press release. No word on how this coup was pulled off, but we congratulate Krupali Tejura, who started the Change.org petition that let AD folks know not to mess with OC. Might there be a cameo of GOB lookalikes on Segways???
