Veronica Paz Case Makes TV Tonight in For My Man on TV One

I’d almost forgotten that I’d sat down in a Santa Ana hotel’s conference room months ago to tape an interview for tonight’s episode of For My Man on TV ONE.

The segment I participated in focuses on Veronica Paz, who was the then 20-year-old side dish of El Modena High School wrestling star Diego Gonzalez the night of Nov. 10, 2003.

Gonzalez, 17, had a more serious girlfriend, and Paz had off-and-on boyfriend Brandan Dante Perry, a 19-year-old former high school football standout out of Garden Grove who did not have much going for him after graduation—other than raging jealousy.

Paz, a former high school “it girl” sick of being a sex doll for Gonzalez, convinced Perry that if he really loved her, he would have to show it. They concocted a plan to have Paz lure Gonzalez to a remote spot in the Orange Hills for sex, but what he found instead was his end.

Perry shot Gonzalez dead that November 2003 night, and Paz at first denied knowing anything about it but later claimed she only thought the victim would get an ass kicking.

There is much more to the story, as you’ll discover tonight. You may be scratching your head at the end wondering how Perry got 25 years to life in state prison, while Paz could be paroled as soon as 2018. It’s pretty clear Perry wonders how that happened.

TV ONE is channel 771 on Fios, where For My Man shows at 10 p.m. and 328 on DirecTV, which has it on at 7 and 10 p.m.. Click here to find out where it is on your system.
