After meeting the girl in San Jose sometime this month, he is accused of buying her a bus ticket to Anaheim on Saturday. Before having her turn tricks in a Harbor Boulevard hotel in Anaheim, Boone allegedly had oral sex and sexual intercourse with the minor.
The original arrest report from Anaheim Police mentioned the department receiving a tip from the FBI about an online advertisement offering the girl up for prostitution. Today's OCDA account has Anaheim Police being contacted Monday by San Jose Police about the 15-year-old runaway. Local cops are said to have then found the online listing, with an undercover posing as a client and contacting her.
"Boone is accused of setting up a meeting with the 'client' and Jane Doe, knowing she was under the age of 16, with the intent to engage her to perform sex for money," reads the OCDA statement. Anaheim Police "found the victim at an Anaheim hotel. Boone is accused of answering the door to the hotel where Jane Doe was, spotting the officers, and fleeing the scene. The defendant was later captured by an Anaheim K-9 officer and taken into custody."
ORIGINAL POST, FEB. 29, 2:49 P.M.: One local police agency took time out from nabbing male teachers accused of sexy time with female students to arrest a man who allegedly pimped out a 15-year-old girl. That, of course, produced an image of Huggy Bear from the old Starsky and Hutch TV show (or Snoop Dogg at left from the 2004 movie remake). Unfortunately, Italo Rajot Boone did not live up (down?) to our expectations.
Anaheim Police received a tip from the FBI about an online post soliciting the girl for sex in the resort town. Undercover detectives followed up by arranging a meeting with her Monday afternoon in a hotel room in the 1700 block of South Harbor Boulevard.
Cops discovered the room was registered under Boone's name. As he was leaving the room, he spotted uniformed police officers and ran, according to Anaheim PD, which noted Boone was taken down by a canine before being arrested.
Investigators discovered the underage girl had been apparently turning tricks for Boone for about three weeks. The 34-year-old is being held without bail as he faces charges of pimping, pandering, lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under 16 and resisting law enforcement.
The Anaheim Police Department says it recently stepped up operations aimed at tackling human sex trafficking with the help of a two-year federal grant.
