A day after arresting a 41-year-old Santa Ana man for being an alleged accessory in a fatal shooting, police are continuing to look for his 21-year-old son.

Matthew Granados is described as 6-foot-2, with long black hair and brown eyes and possibly armed and dangerous, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.

He is wanted in the death of 16-year-old Alex Ramirez, who was shot once in the upper body of Granados' home in the 3600 block of West Hazard Avenue about 11:45 p.m. Sunday, police say.

Investigators were originally told Ramirez died in a drive-by shooting, but that did not match the evidence and, after a search warrant was served at the home, it was determined the teen was shot in a bedroom, according to Santa Ana Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna, who added a weapon was recovered there.

Suspecting that Granados' mother drove her son to another home after the shooting, cops brought her, her husband and her other boy in for questioning.

On Monday, the suspect's father, Alexander Christopher Granados, was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory after the fact.

Bertagna concedes investigators do not yet know if they are dealing with an intentional or accidental shooting, which is why they want to talk with Matthew Granados. If you know where he is, call the Santa Ana Police Department Homicide Unit at 714.245.8390.
