After blue collar workers--and before the hipsters--Pabst Blue Ribbon was most appreciated by Frank Booth, the sick pup brought to career-resurrecting life in the movie Blue Velvet by the late, great Dennis Hopper. An Orange County city that seems like a crossing station for blue collar workers, hipsters and Frank Boothians is Huntington Beach, where Saturday has been proclaimed "PBR Day in Surf City USA."
Hats off to Mayor Matthew Harper for issuing this proclamation, which was no doubt at least party inspired by ...

It seems the PBR being celebrated in Huntington Beach is not Pabst Blue Ribbon.
It's the Professional Bull Riders.
Their Built Ford Tough Series debuts in Surf City Saturday with the Monster Energy Bulls on the Beach 15/15 Bucking Battle. (Try fitting that on a marquee.)
Apparently, the top 15 bull riders in the world go head-to-head with 15 of the world's top bulls near Huntington Beach Pier.
Fingers crossed, hipsters, that PBR scored the beer concession.
