Orange and Los Angeles counties added more construction employment in 2013 than any other metropolitan area in the nation, the Associated General Contractors of America announced this week.
After analyzing federal jobs data, the trade group concluded an estimated 17,300 jobs were added in the LA-Santa Ana construction sector.
And that was broken down further to show 8,200 of those full-time equivalent jobs were in OC while 9,100 were in the LA-Long Beach-Glendale area.
Nationwide, the results were mixed, according to Stephen E. Sandherr, the association's chief executive officer, who noted, "Construction employment continued to expand in many parts of the country in November, but most areas have a long way to go before reaching prior peak levels."
