Two people who were Orange County residents at the time of their sexual crimes with underage teen girls received prison sentences Friday at separate court hearings.

One is a former high school teacher and coach.

Her victim was 15 at the time of the unlawful sex.

The other deviant preyed on girls—a 13-year-old in La Habra and a 17-year-old in Glendora—who he met through an online app.

Rebecca Eileen Diebolt was sentenced Friday to three years and eight months in state prison, but that term will be stayed if the 37-year-old Brea resident successfully completes five years of supervised probation and 180 days in county jail. She must also register as a sex offender for life. Diebolt had been a language arts teacher and girls swimming and water polo coach at Valencia High School in Placentia for about a year when, in 2004, she began what prosecutors called an "illegal relationship" with a 15-year-old girl.

Between 2004 and '08, they engaged in sexual acts in Diebolt's classroom during school and in her home after school and on weekends. Their relationship, which continued after the victim graduated from high school and began attending college, was not investigated until she reported it to the Placentia Police Department on June 4, 2014. Diebolt, who was arrested a week later, pleaded guilty this past Jan. 15 to one felony count of oral copulation with a minor under 16 and one felony count of sexual penetration with a foreign object of a minor.

Moonjun Kim received his six year prison sentence immediately after pleading guilty Friday to one count each of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor younger than 14, meeting a minor to commit lewd conduct and unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. It was part of a plea deal the 28-year-old made that included multiple other felony charges being dropped. He's used the Friends Talk app to meet the 13-year-old girl online before meeting her in person at an Irvine mall on Nov. 28, 2014. Kim drove her to his home, which was then in La Habra, and sexually assaulted her. The girl reported the crime to the Anaheim Police Department because she believed that's where Kim's residence was, and investigators went on to create a fake profile for a 14-year-old girl on the app. "She" contacted Kim, who sent several photographs of his genitals and offered to meet her for sex. Police arrested him at Chaparral Park in Anaheim on March 29 as he waited for the fictitious teen—while packing lubes, condoms and sex toys. The subsequent investigation found that Kim—who was also active on Skype, Facebook and the LINE, We Talk and Kakao Talk apps, had sex in Glendora with a 17-year-old girl he met online.
