I love going to the movies, disappearing for a couple of hours with a bag of popcorn and a coke—who cares if the movie is any good, I love that fresh popcorn! So I purchased a bag of popcorn from South Coast Safe Access, white cheddar (Mmmm...) and went to see a 2:00 p.m. showing of Hands of Stone, the Roberto Duran Story. One of my favorite boxers of all-time! Manos de Piedra! The theatre was almost empty—matinees usually are—and I opened my white cheddar popcorn and started to nibble. Just a few kernels; you never know about edibles, nibble and wait.

I had a good lunch, so it took awhile for the popcorn to take effect—about 45 minutes, not bad, I took a few more kernels, it tasted pretty good, I could taste the THC but the white salty cheddar did a pretty good job of masking it. The movie was starting to get going, great acting, great story, I was really into it and I was starting to get pretty high. I ate about four more kernels of the popcorn and closed the bag for good. I was done, trying to be careful, didn't want to overdose. Right?
By the end of the movie I was feeling great, High AF, but great. This popcorn was a pretty good deal for $20. I didn't eat that much and the bag was still almost full. I drove home and started to wonder when was this high going to wear off, It was almost 5 p.m. and it seemed to be getting more intense. In fact, it's taken me a couple of days to get back to normal. WHOA, THAT'S SOME GOOD SQUISHEE. Just a reminder to readers to watch what you eat when it comes to edibles. Colorado has passed laws that keep any edible to a max of 100mg, and it must be divided into 10mg portions. My bag of popcorn was 300mg of THC and it says six doses—that would make each dose 50mg! You couldn't buy that bag of popcorn in Colorado or Seattle, where they have also adopted the 10 mg of THC per dose.
Enjoy your popcorn, your brownies and jolly ranchers, just keep in mind what's to come with the inevitable passage of Proposition 64—10mg! Butcher OUT.
