Joshua Waring, Son of O.G. Real Housewife, Busted for Attempted Murder
Lauri Waring Peterson is perennial perp Joshua's mother.
As time marches on, the arrests for Joshua Waring, the son of a former Real Housewives of Orange County cast member, get ever more serious.
The latest: attempted murder.
That charge against the 27-year-old San Juan Capistrano resident comes from a case in Costa Mesa where Waring is also accused of vehicle theft, felony evading, hit and run and assault and battery.
Josh Waring is the son of Lauri Waring, who was a divorced single mom of three children looking for love when the original program in Bravo and Andy Cohen’s Real Housewives franchise debuted in 2006.
She found love during the series with previously married developer George Peterson, and the pair later got hitched and blended their families of nine children together.
But she left the series in 2008, claiming she needed a break to deal with one of her son Josh’s previous arrests. She had turned him in that June for possession of heroin and Ecstasy with intent to sell, and he served 240 days in jail.
Josh Waring was popped Oct. 10, 2013, for felony grand theft auto involving a 2005 Cadillac that was not his, possession of an opium pipe and needles and with trying to destroy evidence (said needles). Waring's wife was also arrested for possession of a billy club.
Joshua Waring is in really big trouble this time.
He got picked up on a warrant for a probation violation in July 2010, nearly a year to the day after Orange County sheriff's deputies doing on probation check of his residence say they found drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on suspicion of possessing the kit and violating probation from the case where he was turned in by his mom.
Josh Waring has also been busted for battery on a spouse or significant other and false imprisonment, both misdemeanors.
Costa Mesa cops arrived at a residence in the 2900 block of Babb Street before 2:30 a.m. this past June 20 to find 35-year-old Daniel Lopez of Costa Mesa suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower torso that was serious but he is expected to survive, according to Costa Mesa Police Lt. Greg Scott.

Witnesses pointed investigators to Waring as being the alleged shooter who fled in a 2011 BMW X3 sport utility vehicle that was later reported to have been stolen, Scott said.
Around 10:30 a.m., a vehicle matching that description was spotted from an Orange County sheriff's helicopter in the area of Standard and McFadden avenues in Santa Ana, said Scott, who added that when officers in patrol cars approached the white BMW, it took off.
That led to a short chase that ended when the SUV crashed near Fourth and Terminal streets, where the driver got out and ran into a nearby business, Scott said.
After a brief standoff, the man surrendered to Santa Ana officers and was later identified as Waring.
Evidence related to the Lopez incident was found in the BMW, but a gun was not, noted Scott, who directed anyone with information about the case to contact Detective George Maridakis at 714.754.5051.
