Jaime Mejia Zaragosa Was Stabbed Dead in January; Santa Ana Police Seek Fresh Leads

Jaime Mejia Zaragosa was murdered in Santa Ana way back in January, but police there are making a new plea for someone with information that can find his killer to come forward.

That's fine with me considering I don't see we reported on the slaying of the 38-year-old originally.

I did have 20-year-old Ruben “Gorilla” Gonzalez Jr. shot dead in Santa Ana on Jan. 19, the night before Zaragoa was killed, to make Gonzalez Orange County's first murder victim of 2013.

Ruben “Gorilla” Gonzalez Jr., 20 y.o. Santa Anan, is OC's First Murder Victim of 2013

Apologies for missing the slaying of Zaragosa, who police say went back and forth between homelessness before his death. The 38-year-old was in a parking lot at 718 First St. just before 9 p.m. on January 20 when he got into an argument with someone he was with. The fight escalated to Zaragosa being stabbed in the upper body. He died right there.

Police say they have no leads. Anyone with information that can help find Zaragosa's killer is asked to call Orange County Crime Stoppers, even anonymously, at 1.855.TIP.OCCS.
