Mammoth Mountain Ski Area

Let's say you have a season pass to some other ski resort, but you want to schuss across that 60-inch base at the top of Mammoth Mountain before it all melts away this spring. You are now being enticed to do so with a $59 lift ticket given to anyone who walks up to a ticket window and flashes a season pass from a non-Mammoth ski area.

The best spring skiing conditions in North America have the U.S. Ski and Snowboard team training up at Mammoth this month. If a chance to witness that or $59 lift tickets are not enough to get you up to Mammoth Lakes, perhaps these spring events (per the resort) will do the trip, er, trick:

April 4: Pink Moon Party at the top of Mammoth. Celebrate spring at the summit of Mammoth Mountain during a unique Pink Moon experience. Ride the Panorama Gondola to the top of the Sierra at dusk to watch the sun set and the full moon rise, then party under the Pink Moon. The top of the mountain will be buzzing with indoor/outdoor fun for the whole family including music, food and drinks, kids activities and more.

April 10-12: Mammoth Invitational. A weekend of themed parties, fundraising and friendly team competition that includes Stacey Cook, Kelly Clark, U.S. Ski Team members and other professional athletes as coaches, all for a good cause: kids. All event proceeds benefit the Mammoth Mountain Community Foundation.

April 18: Volcom's Peanut Butter & Rail Jam Championships. After a full winter tour, the five top winners of each resort qualifier will battle it out in the finals for a chance to win part of a $15,000 prize purse and become the 2015 PB&RJ Global Champion! Peanut Butter and Rail Jam is an awesome event to watch--come hang out on the Main Lodge Sundeck or watch the competition right on the snow.

April 25: Burton Girls ride day with Kimmy Fasani. Get in some spring turns with professional snowboarder, Burton Team Rider and Mammoth Team Athlete Kimmy Fasani. Start with morning yoga at Main Lodge, on-hill time to progress your riding with Kimmy and many more, then finish off the day with après on the Sundeck.
