A Santa Ana woman has pleaded guilty to encouraging a 9-year-old female relative to have sex with the woman's live-in boyfriend.
Estela Garcia, 30, copped to seven felony counts of lewd acts with a minor and is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 25.

The girl related to Garcia told a friend at Heritage Elementary School that she was sexually assaulted by a family member. That child told school officials, and the principal called the cops. A Santa Ana Police investigation found the 9-year-old was sexually assaulted from the beginning of 2011 through March 2012.
Garcia, who was convicted Wednesday, did not herself have sex with the relative but was charged under the legal theory of aiding and abetting in the sexual assault allegations against her 42-year-old boyfriend, Deputy District Attorney Keith reportedly explained to City News Service.

Nazario Enrique Cruz-Sanchez is also accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl who did not know Garcia's relative. He pleaded not guilty in January to two counts of sex with a child younger than 10, four counts of oral copulation or sexual penetration of a child younger than 10 and three counts of lewd acts with a minor, all felonies.
