Donald Rumsfeld to Hawk New Rules Book Tonight at Nixon Presidential Library

Former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld is scheduled to appear tonight at the Richard M. Nixon Presidential Library in Yorba Linda in an effort to hawk his latest contribution to the literary world: Rumsfeld's Rules.

Persons eager to see Rumsfeld–who has also worked as a Republican congressman, airline executive, U.S. Ambassador to NATO, RAND Corporation director, White House chief of staff and a chief architect of the Iraq War–can pay the $48 admission fee, plus the book's full listing price, $27.99, at the 7 p.m. event.

Orange County liberals–who remain unhappy with George W. Bush administration lies that led to the Iraq invasion–are planning to protest Rumsfeld's appearance beginning at 6:30 p.m. outside the library.

Rumsfeld's Rules, called “tough” and “acute” by Henry Kissinger and “recycled palaver” by a more skeptical reader, is presently the top-selling book in the business and organization management category at Amazon.com, where the tome is available for $18.19.

What type of advice can you expect from Rummy?

He wants people to learn to say, “I don't know” and, “Be precise.”

Also, Rumsfeld underscores that, “It's easier to get into something than to get out of it.”

Despite that seeming simplicity, the always-insightful Al Kamen at The Washington Post called the book “a brisk and fun read.”

Signed copies of the book will be available for order HERE through the Nixon Foundation.
