Dennis Scott Durbin's guilty plea to sexually assaulting a female patient in his Irvine chiropractor's office sends him to jail for a year, subjects him to three years of probation and forces the surrender of his license to practice.
The 65-year-old also won't be cracking necks in Orange County parks declared child safety zones as the Costa Mesa resident's sentence includes registering as a sex offender for life.

Speaking of necks, we reported last September the 28-year-old patient had been seeing Durbin at Sky Park Chiropractic due to neck pain for more than a year when he felt up lady parts that are not connected to the neck.

But City News Service, whose reporter covered the trial, states the woman actually saw Durbin for an injured knee beginning in 2011 and that in July 2012 the chiropractor added massage into her treatment. He touched her inappropriately at an appointment the following month.
She contacted the National Sexual Assault hotline, which in turn notified the Irvine Police Department, whose investigation resulted in Durbin's arrest and prosecution.
He copped Friday to sexual battery by fraud.
By the way, if you are a current patient of Sky Park Chiropractic worry not because Durbin only worked there on days the regular practitioner was manning a different office.
