[BREAKING:] DA to Announce Charges (If Any) in Kelly Thomas Killing

Moments after receiving the county coroner's report regarding Kelly Thomas' cause of death, the Orange County District Attorney's office announced DA
Tony Rackauckas is holding a press conference Wednesday morning “to discuss his filing
decision following the OCDA's investigation of six Fullerton Police
Department officers in the death of Thomas.”

In other words, at 11 a.m., in the first floor law library at his offices in Santa Ana, T-Rack will finally reveal what, if any, criminal charges will be filed against the cops who killed the unarmed homeless man.

Around 4:40 p.m today, the Orange
County Sheriff's Department, whose agency includes the coroner's division, had “just turned the autopsy
report” in the Thomas beating death case over to the DA's office, according to sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino.

The DA issued its press release announcing tomorrow's press conference just before 5 p.m.

Upon hearing the news of the DA's press conference, Kelly Thomas' father, Ron
Thomas
, told the Weekly he was feeling “antsy.”

Thomas said he asked the DA's office if he could attend the press conference but was told he couldn't.

“Family
is never allowed in for something like this,” Thomas says someone at the DA's office told him.

That same person did indicate, however, that OCDA representatives want to speak to Thomas immediately
after the press conference.

Stay tuned.
