Brandon Hicks and 17-year-old Girl Arrested in Fatal Surf City Stabbing

A 27-year-old man and 17-year-old girl have been arrested in the stabbing death of a man at Huntington Beach Central Library early Friday.

Police received the call around 12:30 a.m. of a man down at the library at 7111 Talbert Ave., according to the Huntington Beach Police Department Facebook page.

The 37-year-old Huntington Beach resident was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

Detectives have pieced together that a group of people were hanging out in a northeast parking lot of the library when two men got into a fight, one stabbed the other and the suspected killer ran off.

It is unknown if the two men knew one another before the fight, police say.

The man who has been arrested is Brandon Hicks, while the teen girl has not been identified because of her age.

The investigation continues, and anyone with information is asked to call the Huntington Beach Police Department hotline at 714.375.5066. Anonymous tips may be left with Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855.847.6227 (855-TIP-OCCS), via occrimestoppers.org or by texting to 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S) from a cell phone.
