Beware of Zombies at Block of Orange Tonight

Zombies roam the Block of Orange tonight, but this time it is not to feed on the brains of the unwashed at Dave and Buster's.

Moviegoers are invited to dust off that zombie outfit in the closet and join the “Zombie Walk to the Block,” which leads up to the screening of Resident Evil: Afterlife–an IMAX 3D Experience and a drive to send DVDs to members of the military serving overseas.

The new IMAX theater at the Block, Power 106 FM and SpeedZone present the promotion from 6 to 8 p.m. that will have them doling out Resident Evil: Afterlife swag (while supplies last).

Participants are encouraged to give something as well: new or slightly used DVDs. These will be sent to troops overseas through Orange-based Operation: A Bit of Home.

The flick will then flash on a screen in the IMAX theater that has been specifically designed for the AMC 30, right down to a state-of-the-art sound system. AMC and IMAX are combining forces like evil geniuses to install 100 new IMAX digital projection systems in major U.S. markets. The Orange theater is among the most-visited in the nation.

Other upcoming flicks at the Block that will have been formatted for the IMAX theater include: Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (Sept. 24); MegaMind (Nov. 5); Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (Nov.
19); and Tron: Legacy (Dec. 17).
