Participants are encouraged to give something as well: new or slightly used DVDs. These will be sent to troops overseas through Orange-based Operation: A Bit of Home.
The flick will then flash on a screen in the IMAX theater that has been specifically designed for the AMC 30, right down to a state-of-the-art sound system. Other upcoming flicks at the Block that will have been formatted for the IMAX theater include: Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (Sept. 24); MegaMind (Nov. 5); Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (Nov. 19); and Tron: Legacy (Dec. 17).
