UPDATE, JAN. 19, 8:16 A.M.: Adam Jay Stone and Ransom Lee Cook are scheduled to be arraigned this morning for the murder of Alexander Raymond McMoore, who was gunned down in Anaheim's Twila Reid Park earlier this month. Stone, 28, of Anaheim, is charged with murder and a sentence-enhancing allegation of personal discharge of a gun causing death.

A conviction could send Stone to state prison for 50 years to life. Cook, 24, of Westminster, also faces a murder count, a sentence-enhancing allegation of arming himself with a gun and a possible sentence of 26 years to life. Authorities have not divulged a motive for the shooting of 29-year-old Anaheim resident McMoore.
ORIGINAL POST, JAN. 8, 8:30 A.M.: Numerous witnesses to the shotgun slaughter of a 29-year-old Anaheim man near basketball courts at a city park Wednesday afternoon pointed investigators to two suspects who are now behind bars.
Dispatchers got the call about 4:50 p.m. Wednesday of a shooting at Twila Reid Park, 3100 West Orange Ave., Anaheim.
Arriving officers found a man in his late 20s down near the basketball courts on the north side of the park, according to Lt. Bob Dunn, the Anaheim Police spokesman. Later identified as Alexander Raymond McMoore, the victim was suffering from at least one gunshot wound to his upper body and was taken by Anaheim paramedics to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was pronounced dead a short time later, Dunn added.
The spokesman says homicide detectives interviewed numerous witnesses at the park, where no one else was injured, and learned from this information the identities of the suspects: Adam Jay Stone, 28, of Anaheim, and Ransom Lee Cook, 24, of Westminster. It was additionally discovered the pair may have fled the park in a red BMW, Dunn noted.
A short time later, Stone and Cook were arrested by Anaheim officers on suspicion of murder and later booked at the Anaheim Police Department Temporary Detention Facility, where each was held in lieu of $1 million bail, said Dunn.
McMoore is believed to have been the pair's intended target, and no other suspects are being sought at this time, Dunn said. Detectives located and seized a red BMW they believe is related to shooting.
