1. Woman found slain in Cypress home
When 63-year-old Sharon Federation failed to show up for work for a couple days, cops were sent to check on her at her home in the 10200 block of Pimlico Street in Cypress at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, hours before trick-or-treaters made their rounds. Officers found her body, and investigators have deemed her death suspicious without revealing much more. Cypress Police are seeking tips at 714.229.6641.
2. Mom dies, toddler hurt jumping/being pushed from truck
A Santa Ana mom was killed and her toddler daughter was injured Halloween night when they either jumped or were pushed out of a vehicle driven by her boyfriend/his father. Witnesses saw this unfold around 8 p.m. Thursday, when Gloria Sanchez, 21, and her 13-month-old girl were found lying in the street in the 1600 block of West Edinger Avenue, according to Santa Ana Police. Sanchez later died at a local hospital but her daughter's injuries were not considered life-threatening. Police mounted a search for the driver of a dark-colored pickup before Francisco Montano, 21, turned himself and his black Toyota Rav4 into police on Friday. He was held on $200,000 bail for alleged felony hit and run.

3. Boy may have been tricked with meth-laced treat
The Huntington Beach Police Department is investigating whether a boy who fell ill eating Halloween candy laced with meth Saturday had been given the sweet while trick-or-treating in the area of Beach Boulevard and Atlanta Avenue. The child, whose name and age have not been released, is not from Surf City but did go door-to-door there Thursday evening, according to police Sgt. Michael Metoyer. After the boy experienced nightmares and would not go to back to sleep, he was taken to a local hospital, where it was confirmed he had been exposed to methamphetamine. It's unknown if the case is related to a Moreno Valley child who was also hospitalized Saturday after apparently eating tainted candy in that Riverside County town. 4. Pumpkins fly in San Clemente
The Orange County Sheriff's Department reported getting a call around 1:19 a.m. Sunday about vehicles driving in the 200 block of Avenida Serra in San Clemente being pelted with pumpkins. One victim of the “pumpkin-induced terror” confronted and yelled at “the rowdy vandals,” reports Patch.
