Now Playing: The Bounce Back, The Eyes of My Mother, Miss Sloane, Office Christmas Party and More

The following movies roll in Orange County movie theaters starting Friday (if not for others trying to pad their weekend box office takes).

Befikre. Aditya Chopra (Rab ne Bana Di Jodi) is back in the director's chair with this light-hearted rom-com that has Dharam and Shyra finding love in an impulsive, engaging series of experiences in—where else?—Paris. (AMC 30 at the Outlets, Orange and Edwards Long Beach Stadium)

The Bounce Back. Director and co-writer Youssef Delara has a relationship guru and best-selling author finding himself falling for the licensed therapist who questions his methods. Nadine Velazquez, Shemar Moore and Michael Beach star. (Countywide)

Dhruva. Reddy Surrender's action-thriller finds a committed police officer on a very dangerous mission to destroy the most corrupt person in India, Siddharth Abhimanyu. Arvind Swamy, Rakul Preet Singh, Ram Charan and Nassar star. (Cinemark Century Stadium, Orange)

The Eyes of My Mother. First-time director Nicolas Pesce's horror story is about a lonely young woman (Kika Magalhaes) in the country suffering from a traumatic event that leaves her associating pain and death with love and friendship in increasingly dangerous ways. Will Brill, Olivia Bond and Paul Nazak co-star. (The Frida Cinema, Santa Ana)

Frank & Lola. The psychosexual noir love story, set in Las Vegas and Paris, is about love, obsession, sex, betrayal, revenge and, ultimately, the search for redemption. Michael Shannon, Imogen Poots and Justin Long star for director Matthew Ross. (AMC 30 at the Outlets, Orange)

i. S. Shankar's 2015 action-romance thriller from India clocks in at 3 hours and 8 minutes. Lingesan, a deformed hunchback who was once a body builder and a handsome model, seeks revenge on the people who ruined his life. Vikram, Amy Jackson, Suresh Gopi and Upen Patel star. (Regency South Coast Village, Santa Ana)

Lion. Saroo Brierley (Dev Patel), who was lost at the age of 5 and adopted by an Australian family, searches for his long-lost family using Google Earth. Nicole Kidman, Rooney Mara and David Wenham also star in the drama that was originally titled A Long Way Home, which is also the title of the nonfiction book by the real Brierley. (Edwards Westpark 8, Irvine)

Miss Sloane. On Saturday, “Jessica Chastain by Maura Bewer” ends its two month-plus run at UC Irvine’s University Art Gallery. The artist choose video snippets of the actress in Zero Dark Thirty, Interstellar and The Martian to show that in each she plays a high-achieving career women dedicated to the pursuit of a non-romantic male counterpart (from Osama bin Laden to Matt Damon). Sounds like Jess could be up to the same in Miss Sloane, where she stars as a lobbyist pushing a background-check bill through the U.S. Senate. Directed by John Madden from a Jonathan Perera script, the film is billed as less a debate on the Second Amendment than an examination of how the American political system works (or doesn't). Mark Strong, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Stuhlbarg, Alison Pill, Jake Lacy, John Lithgow and Sam Waterston co-star. (Countywide)

Nocturnal Animals. An art gallery owner (Amy Adams) is haunted by a violent thriller novel that she interprets as a veiled threat and a symbolic revenge tale aimed at her. Why? Because it was written by her ex-husband (Jake Gyllenhall). Also starring for director Tom Ford are Michael Shannon and Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Countywide)

Office Christmas Party. A hard-partying branch manager (T.J. Miller) and his chief technical officer (Jason Bateman) host an epic company Christmas party to rally co-workers, impress a potential client and close a sale to stave off the office's closure by the manager's sister and company CEO (Jennifer Aniston). Josh Gordon and Will Speck direct, and Olivia Munn, Jillian Bell, Courtney B. Vance and Kate McKinnon co-star in this flick that's said to feature a couple memorable gross-out gags. (Countywide)

The Super Parental Guardians. In this Filipino action comedy, Arci (Vice Ganda) is granted custody of the children (Awra Briguela and Onyok Pineda) of his best friend Sarah (Patel de Leon). The children’s uncle Paco (Coco Martin) has no choice but to live and get along with Arci. Playing the roles of momshie and popshie, the pair embark on the craziest and greatest adventure of their lives. (AMC 30 at the Outlets and Cinemark Century Stadium 25, both in Orange)
