Wild Ones, Pop Noir

Don't be fooled into thinking The Cranberries' lead singer Dolores O'Riordan has evolved into singing in an electro pop band. This is Portland's Wild Ones, who bring a delightful edge to indie pop with synth-heavy melodies and singer Danielle Sullivan's fluttery vocals. While they're not lo-fi enough to be considered shoegaze, individual tracks on their full length album Keep It Safe are dreamy and maintain a pristine musical prowess you'll be mesmerized either way. Joining them tonight at Maison is Pop Noir, the LA-based British duo of twin brothers Joe and Luke McGarry (the latter whom often lends his artistic talents to the Weekly). Their hypnotic, pulsing synth beats and nu disco sound is high energy stuff, potent enough to bring out the dance freak in anyone. Bust a move with these two eclectic bands tonight.
